What should I do if I get a massage and the therapist talks during it? I've had it happen and I find it very annoying.

At the beginning during the client intake, let your therapist know you prefer minimumal talking. That you are able to relax and enjoy the massage better.

Mention to your therapist, before the massage starts, that you prefer not to talk during session.  If the therapist tries to initiate conversation in the session FEEL FREE to say you'd rather not talk.  YOU are paying.  YOU have the RIGHT.  It's YOUR experience.  If they continue to talk you have the right to end the session.  IF THEY CONTINUE AFTER YOU ASKED THEM NOT TO, THEY ARE NOT A QUALITY THERAPIST TO BEGIN WITH.

I agree with you that it can be annoying to have a massage therapist talk throughout your massage.  As a therapist I tell my clients before we start that I will only be asking how the pressure is during the massage.  If they would like to talk thats fine, we can talk.  If they chose to be quite so will I.   When I'm the client I tell the threapist right up front that I prefer quite as I like to get into a meditative state during the massage.  That usually works.
