When booking a massage how do I decide what service/massage is best for what I need?

Think about what you need. Relaxation? Rest? Tension/stress release. Injury recovery? Tight spots worked out? A solid all over rub down?  Discuss your needs when booking. A good massage service can direct you to the right service. There are lots of types of bodywork and they all have benefits. If you have the luxury, explore new modalities. Also, ask people you know about their experiences and what they like about a particular therapist or modality. Some people like lighter more subtle work. Some people like to feel like a wet wash rag that's been wrung out when they are done. It's possible to get both types of service from one provider,  but ASK if you have particular needs.

Best and simple way for the client is, to make a list of what indication he has for which , he is thinking for massage.

Now consult a experienced Massage Therapist and you get the solution.

Before each appointment I take a few minutes to make sure I go over any issues my client wants addessed.  During this process I can discuss with them the different options I would suggest to best maximize the time we have together.  Alot of people don't fully understand the benefits of incorporating different modalities into a massage session.  Such as, aromatherapy, hot stone, cupping, or trigger point.  I explain what I can do and what the benefit would be.

I think in part it depends on whether or not you are looking to go to a massage place, or have a massage therapist come to you (mobile massage). There are different considerations wtih each of these options. I have written an extensive blog on this topic - you can visit that to learn about how to choose a mobile massage therapist in case that option interests you.
