How much would a session cost, or does the price vary depending on the therapist and what needs be done??

Rates for massage vary widely accross the united states. Variables include regional averages, whether you're paying for high-end spa surcharges or medical facility surcharges, therapist experience and training, depth/pressure used (and corresponding physical exertion required by the therapist), and more. A massage therapist, on average, can only safely do about 4 hours of deep muscle massage or trigger point work per day (and roughly 10-15 hours/week) without risking injury to their hands/joints, so the price may seem steep to some, but when it's averaged out with the other tasks that are required in office for laundry, bookwork, records, billing, etc., and overhead, a typical therapist only makes about $10-15/hour on average and has a career length of roughly 5 years. It seems to be that the average one hour session in the U.S. ranges from about $60-$80/hour.
Where in the world did you come up with a career length of 5 years for massage therapists????
I have been a massage therapist for over 20 years, and personally know many other therapists who go well beyond your 5 year mark. Perhaps you are referring to "burn-out", which can happen in any profession, if you abuse the way you work. This is not related specifically to massage therapists.     J.

The price absolutely depends on the therapist, the type of massage, the length of session and even the area that you're in...
