Can a person with fibromyalgia benefit from a massage with deep muscle pain?

I have fibromyalgia and im having problems with the muscles on my shoulders.Muscle relaxers arent helping so im curious about a deep tissue massage but also fear i will hurt more

Hi Stephanie,

Massage can be very beneficial for people with Fibromyalgia.  The pressure of the massage should be only to the clients tolerance and therefore not painful.  Hydration is also a factor to alleviate post massage soreness.  Hope my answer is helpful to you.
