Myofascial release is a slow and deliberate technique that will help to release scar tissue. It's a technique that any good therapist can teach you (if reachable), because you will need about 5-10 /30 minute sessions within about 2 weeks, if u are only looking to address the scar tissue. But because scar tissue pulls from all of your connective tissue, you may want to consider 3-6 / 60-90 minutes massages over about a 2 week period, but always listen to your body, and if you feel you need to spread out the sessions, please do that. After the initial treatments, you may want to consider weekly to biweekly massages. Just remember this one thing: you should not be wincing or tightening up from pain during the service. This may give you temporary endorphins release that make you feel better, but it's redundant and not going to give u the long term relief you need.
