You can have massage done right away, however, when receiving massage, the practitioner should be sure that you are very stable on the table, and that the affectd area is immobilized. As a shiatsu practitioner, I would have you face up on the table instead of the futon, and of course, there is no need to undress as shiatsu works with the vital energy (qi) instead of the skin. The massage should be light and relaxing. No "deep tissue" until the area is almost completely recovered. Relaxing other areas of the body, including the mental aspects, is extremely important when recovering from trauma, as this allows for a shorter and more complete recovery time.
