Bone Fracture

Description:

A bone fracture can be anything from a hairline crack to a complete break. They are usually quite painful. Broken bones may be caused by injury, such as a fall or other impact, or they may be the result of brittle bones. Some fractures will require casting, other more serious ones may require pins or plates to ensure immobilization.

Precautions:

Massage should not be done directly on or around a recent fracture, but can be done on other parts of the body. Massage can be administered during later stages of healing to help restore circulation and muscle tone.
