Heart Attack
Description:
A heart attack, also referred to as a myocardial infarction, is caused by sudden obstruction of blood flow through the coronary arteries, resulting in permanent damage to the myocardium. Symptoms may include a feeling of pressure on the chest, pain, lightheadedness, dizziness and nausea.
Precautions:
A person who has recently had a heart attack should not get any massage that affects circulation. After a period of recovery they may be able to receive a massage, but should be cleared by their cardiologist.
