Hernia

Description:

A hernia is a hole or rip in either the abdominal wall or inguinal ring. It may result in some bulging as well as mild to severe pain.

Precautions:

Massage should not be administered to the site of an untreated hernia. If the client also has a fever or signs of an infection, massage is systemically contraindicated. If a client has had recent surgery for a hernia precaution needs to be taken and the client must cleared by the primary care physician or surgeon.
