Lymphoma
Description:
Lymphoma is cancer of the lymph nodes. It has two main categories: Hodgkin's lymphoma and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma under which there are many sub-types. Symptoms usually include painless swelling of lymph nodes together with anemia, low grade fever, fatigue, itchiness, abdominal pain, all lasting two weeks or more.
Precautions:
While Swedish massage is generally contraindicated for active lymphoma, non-circulatory forms of massage my be appropriate. Any massage should have the clearance of the client's physician and be part of an overall health care plan.
