Vertigo
Description:
Vertigo is a symptom not a disease. It refers to the spinning sensation (dizziness) that is a result of a disturbance in equilibrium. It is usually caused by a disturbance in some or all portions of the vestibular system (inner ear, vestibular nerve, brainstem and cerebellum). Vertigo can range from mild to extreme resulting in loss of balance and/or nausea.
Precautions:
Massage is contraindicated during periods of vertigo. The cause of vertigo needs to be determined before proceeding with any form of massage.
