PNF, or proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation, consists of a series of passive stretching and isometrics used to improve flexibility, range of motion, biomechanics as well as to prevent overuse injury of muscles and joints. It is used in conjunction with sports rehabilitation and medical massage.
