Colorectal Cancer
Description:
Malignant tumors located in the colon or rectum which can block the bowel and/or metastasize to other organs. Depending on which part of the colon is affected the person with colorectal cancer will have different symptoms including changes in bowels habits, blood in the stool and weight loss.
Precautions:
Massage may be used as a part of an overall health plan, but care needs to be taken in cases where there is a colostomy bag. Massage can be very helpful as a supportive therapy, but is generally not advised if the client is undergoing chemotherapy or radiation treatments.
