Swedish Massage
Definition:
Swedish Massage is the most traditional of all techniques and is taught to all massage therapy students. It consists of a combination of five basic strokes - effleurage, petrissage, friction, tapotement and vibration which are used to facilitate circulation and relaxation. The client, covered with a sheet, lays on a massage table. Only the area of the body being worked on is exposed.
