Diabetic Neuropathy
Description:
Diabetic neuropathy is caused by poor capillary circulation and too much glucose in the blood. This can lead to nerve damage and result in tingling, pain or even numbness usually in the hands and/or feet. See also: peripheral neuropathy
Precautions:
If numbness interferes with the client's ability to offer feedback, the massage is generally contraindicated. A case-by-case judgment needs to be made according to the client's tolerance.
