Endometriosis
Description:
Endometriosis occurs when tissue which normally lines the uterus is implanted elsewhere, such as the fallopian tubes, ovaries or in pelvic tissue. This misplaced tissue continues to react to monthly hormonal changes, thickening, breaking down and bleeding. This may lead to pain, cysts, adhesions and scar tissue formation.
Precautions:
Deep abdominal, or pelvic massage may be very painful and should be avoided. Massage can help with the stress and anxiety that can worsen the symptoms.
