Joint Pain
Description:
Joint pain can be the result of injury, disease or aging. Common causes of joint pain are arthritis, bursitis, gout and lupus. Severe joint pain can impair mobility and adversely affect the quality of life. Anti-inflammatories are commonly prescribed to ease joint pain. Non-drug relief can be provided by a warm bath, regular massage therapy and stretching exercises.
Precautions:
If joint pain is caused by inflammation around the area then massage may be contraindicated. With mild joint pain massage can be extremely effective in helping regain flexibility in the affected joints.
