Leukemia
Description:
There are many types of leukemia, all of which are disorders involving the production of non-functioning white blood cells. Symptoms may include easy bruising, low resistance to infection and anemia.
Precautions:
Treatment for leukemia often involves chemotherapy. During chemotherapy massage is contraindicated. People with leukemia also have compromised immune systems and therefore are susceptible to secondary infections. Any bodywork given needs to take this into consideration.
