Scleroderma
Description:
Scleroderma is an autoimmune disorder which damages small blood vessels and leads to abnormal scarring in the skin and sometimes internal organs. It can have many symptoms including edema and the hardening or thickening of skin especially the hands and face.
Precautions:
If there are no circulatory or kidney problems massage can be indicated for people with scleroderma. Light touch massage or energy modalities may be better for those who have compromised organs.
