Description:
Physical trauma is the result of a serious, possibly life-threatening physical injury caused by impact, piercing or tearing of skin. Serious physical trauma has the potential for shock, respiratory or cardiac failure or death. Physical trauma can be the result of an automobile accident, gunshot wound, surgery or other intrusion into the body.
Precautions:
No massage should be given to a client that has suffered recent physical trauma. Massage may be administered as a part of an overall recovery program with a recovery team during the subsequent healing process.
