Low Back Pain
Description:
Low back pain can occur because of strain or overuse, injury, stress, being overweight, aging, disc problems or a pinched nerve among other things. For mild or infrequent back pain anti-inflammatories are often prescribed. In severe cases surgery may be an alternative. Massage and gentle stretching can also be used to relieve back pain.
Precautions:
Massage is an excellent therapy for lower back pain. It often brings relief to long-time sufferers. Regular massage therapy can not only help alleviate pain, but increase mobility of the spine. In severe or long-term pain situations, a physician should be consulted so as to determine the cause and rule out more serious conditions.
