Lupus
Description:
Lupus is an autoimmune disease in which antibodies attack various types of body tissue. There are several diagnostic criteria used in determining the presence of lupus including arthritis, pleurisy, pericarditis, kidney and nervous system dysfunction.
Precautions:
Massage is contraindicated in cases where there is an acute flare-up. If the client is in remission, massage may be helpful in reducing pain and anxiety.
