Neck Pain
Description:
Neck pain can be caused by a variety of things including mild muscle strain, whiplash, nerve impingement, deteriorated disks and emotional strain. For mild or infrequent neck pain anti-inflammatories are often prescribed. In severe cases surgery may be an alternative. Massage and gentle stretching can also be used to relieve neck pain.
Precautions:
Massage is an excellent therapy for neck pain. It often brings relief to long-time sufferers. Regular massage therapy can not only help alleviate pain, but increase mobility of the spine. In severe or long-term pain situations, a physician should be consulted so as to determine the cause and rule out more serious conditions.
