Osgood-Schlatter Disease
Description:
Osgood-Schlatter disease is sometime referred to as growing pains as it occurs almost exclusively in adolescents, especially those participating in sports activities. It involves an irritation and inflammation at the site of the quadriceps insertion on the tibial tuberosity.
Precautions:
Massage is locally contraindicated as it will increase the inflammation. If in a sub-acute stage massage may help to reduce pain.
