Spinal Deformities
Description:
Spinal deformities can range from mild to severe and include kyphosis, lordosis and scoliosis. The cause may be congenital or caused by aging, injury or disease. In mild cases braces may be used to correct or limit the deformity. In more severe cases surgery may be warranted. Spinal deformities can affect both mobility and flexibility as well as the function of abdominal organs.
Precautions:
Massage on its own cannot completely correct spinal deformities, but can be used successfully as an adjunct therapy helping to relax stressed musculature and improve circulation.
