Stroke rehabilitation
Description:
A stroke is caused by a blockage in blood flow to the brain or by an internal cerebral hemorrhage. Symptoms include numbness or weakness on one side of the body, paralysis, blurry or diminished vision, difficulty in speaking or understanding, sudden extreme headache and/or loss of consciousness.
Precautions:
Any circulatory massage should be avoided in stroke survivors as they are at increased risk for cardiovascular problems. The client's primary care physician should give the okay for any massage.
